For the first time in years Sixers’ fans will be able to say that they are spoiled. Between the debuts of Markelle Fultz and Ben Simmons, and the sophomore campaigns of Dario Saric and Joel Embiid there is a lot of buzz around the Sixers heading into this season. Sixers basketball is primed and ready to start making noise again in the eastern conference, but there is one key factor of this team that nobody is really talking about.
Along with having a young, fast-paced, and potential star studded starting lineup the Sixers will have a deep second unit to help carry the load. Between drafting young assets and making key free agent signings the Sixers have set themselves up to be one of the deeper teams in the league. The second unit this season has a good mix of veteran presence and young talent that will be able to pick up the slack and keep the team in games. Being lead by Dario Saric and the new and improved Jahlil Okafor the Sixers bench unit is going to surprise the league this season.
The acquisition of Amir Johnson and the return of Jerryd Bayless from wrist surgery will bring a strong veteran presence for this Sixers bench. Along with a plethora of role players ready to make the most of their minuets. Players like TJ McConnell, Justin Anderson, Richaun Holmes, TLC, Nik Stauskas, and Furkan Korkmaz will provide coach Brown with more than enough talent to mix and match a great bench unit. From top to bottom the Sixers look ready to take the league by storm.
