The Sixers are star hunting and coincidentally there seems to be a lot of them available for the taking. Of course they’ve already swung and missed on LeBron James and Paul George via Free Agency but they are still in the mix for the few others that are available in potential trades.
In recent weeks the relationship or lack thereof between Jimmy Butler and the Minnesota Timberwolves has hit the public. Butler is apparently unhappy with his situation in Minnesota after just one full season there. Rumors have reported that he is disgruntled with star teammates Karl Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins.
Note: Butler turned down a max extension from the Timberwolves last week.

Along with the rumors of Butler wanting out of Minnesota there is also some revolving around him wanting to team up with Boston Celtics PG Kyrie Irving in New York. This obviously poses a risk for the Sixers or any other team interested in trading for the 4x All-Star wing.
What would it take?
Jimmy Butler is one of the premier two way players in the game today. With that being said, the asking price isn’t going to be much cheaper than the Kawhi Leonard sweepstakes. In Butler’s seven seasons in the NBA he has earned All-Defensive honors four times and was named to an All-NBA team twice.
Looking at the Sixers roster and assets, the trade would most likely revolve around Dario Saric and Robert Covington.
Philadelphia receives – Jimmy Butler
Minnesota receives – Dario Saric, Robert Covington, and PHI 2019 1st
